Согласно результатам переписи населения Великобритании за 2011 год, обнародованным в начале 2013-го, свыше 50% людей, проживающих в Лестере (административный центр графства Лестершир), Лутоне (город в южной части церемониального графства Бедфордшир) и Слау (город на востоке церемониального графства Беркшир), — либо иностранцы, либо принадлежат к этническому меньшинству.

Таким образом, упомянутые города присоединились к Лондону, в котором белые британцы составляют всего 45% населения. Ожидается, что к 2020 году ряды подобных населенных пунктов пополнит Бирмингем.

В ходе переписи жителей Великобритании спрашивали, к какой этнической группе они себя относят. Кроме того, белое население было разделено на тех, кто считает себя белыми британцами, и на тех, кто относит себя к «белым другим» — в последнюю группу попали иммигранты из Европы, а также Австралазии и Америки, пишет The Daily Mail.

Из 203 000 человек населения Лутона белыми британцами назвали себя всего 91 000, однако в общей сложности 165 000 жителей считают себя британцами. В Лестере насчитывается 17 этнических групп, численность каждой из которых превышает 1 000 человек.  Из 140 000 жителей Слау к белым британцам причисляют себя 48 000, к британцам — 108 000.
