The worst penalty ever? No Samba skill here as Brazilian kicks ball BACKWARDS

There have been some shocking penalty misses over the years but it takes something special to kick the ball backwards from the penalty spot.

Brazilian midfielder Pilo is the man who is arguably responsible for the worst penalty miss of all time after this terrible effort yesterday.

America-SP were trailing at home to Votuporanguense in the lowly Paulista A3 division in Brazil when Pilo had a chance to get his side back into the game from the spot.

Pilo ran up confidently enough... but slipped as he swung his leg backwards and the ball went behind him before it was cleared.

America-SP went on to lose 2-0 but the match will be remembered more for Pilo's disastrous miss.
